Bogota, Colombia

La Candelaria is a colonial neighborhood in Bogota with cobblestone streets, colorfully painted buildings, several universities and an impressive bookstore. It is walking distance from the Presidential Palace and a beautiful cathedral (Catedral Primal).

There are so many similarities between Bogota and the city of my birth, Quito....the architecture, the mountains, the noises, the people. It is a reminder that even though we may move far away from where we once grew up, our childhood home is forever part of our fabric.
